Eight Network Creations Private Limited ("we", "us", "our") operates Sevn (the "App"), a mobile application that lets users stream and watch AI-generated shows, films and other video content (the "Services").
We take the protection of your personal information seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Services, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights available to you.
By downloading, accessing or using the Services, you consent to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of your information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Capitalised terms not defined here carry the meaning given to them in our Terms of Use.
1. Quick summary
This summary is for convenience only. Please read the full Policy below.
- We collect the account details you give us, the viewing and interaction data generated as you use the App, and technical information about your device.
- All shows and films on the Services are wholly or substantially generated using artificial intelligence. We explain how that affects your data in Section 3.
- We use your information to run and improve the Services, personalise recommendations, process payments, keep the platform safe, communicate with you, and meet our legal obligations.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can access, correct, delete or export your information, withdraw consent, and opt out of marketing at any time. Section 10 explains how.
- You must be 18 or over to use the Services.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
Depending on how you use the Services, we may ask you for:
- Account information: name or display name, mobile number, email address, password or authentication token, and profile picture.
- Optional profile information: date of birth, gender, language preference, city or country, and content preferences you select during onboarding.
- Payment information: where you buy a subscription or make an in-app purchase, we process transaction details such as the plan purchased, amount, currency, date, transaction identifier, payment method type, and the billing name and postal code. See Section 7 for what we do and do not store.
- Communications: the contents of support tickets, feedback, bug reports, content reports and any correspondence you send us, including attachments and screenshots.
- User submissions: any text, image, comment, rating, review, watchlist name, prompt or other material you choose to submit through the Services.
You may decline to provide any of this information, but some features may then be unavailable to you.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
When you use the Services, we automatically collect:
- Viewing and usage activity: titles you open, watch, pause, resume, abandon or complete; playback position and watch duration; playback quality and buffering events; search queries; browsing within the App; downloads for offline viewing; likes, saves, watchlist additions, ratings, shares and reports; subtitle and audio track selections; and notification opens.
- Inferred preferences: genres, themes, formats, languages and creators we infer you are interested in, derived from the activity above, used to rank and recommend content.
- Device and log data: IP address, approximate location derived from IP (city or region level), device make and model, operating system and version, App version and build, device language and time zone, screen and player capabilities, unique device and installation identifiers, advertising identifier (where applicable), available storage and memory, network type and carrier, crash reports, stack traces, error logs, and the date and time of each session.
- Authentication events: sign-in attempts, successful and failed authentications, and session tokens, used to secure your account.
2.3 Identifiers and similar technologies
The App does not set browser cookies. It does use software development kits (SDKs), local storage on your device and unique identifiers to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure how the Services are used, and assess the performance of our marketing campaigns.
Where the App opens a web page inside itself, for example a payment or support page, that page may set cookies belonging to the third party operating it.
You can reset or limit your advertising identifier, and opt out of personalised advertising, in your device settings under Google Settings → Ads. Doing so does not stop us collecting the usage data described in Section 2.2, which is needed to run the App.
2.4 Signing in through a third party
If you sign in using Google, Apple, Facebook or another third-party provider, we receive the basic profile information that provider makes available to us and that you authorise, typically your name, email address and profile picture. We do not receive your posts, contacts, friends list or activity on that platform unless you separately grant us that permission. Your use of the third-party provider is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy, and we are not responsible for their practices.
2.5 Permissions we may request
The App may ask for access to your device's storage (to save downloads), notifications (to send you alerts about new releases), and camera or photo library (only if you upload a profile picture). Each permission is requested at the point of use and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
3. AI-generated content
All or substantially all of the shows, films, trailers, artwork, voices, music and descriptions available through the Services are created using artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, either by us, by our content partners or by third-party tools we license. This has the following implications for your information:
- Content is synthetic. Characters, voices, likenesses, places and events depicted in the content are generated and are not real, unless a title expressly states otherwise. Any resemblance to an actual person, living or dead, is unintended.
- Content may be inaccurate. AI-generated material may contain factual errors, anachronisms or artefacts. It is provided for entertainment and should not be relied upon as factual, professional, medical, legal or financial information.
- Where you submit prompts or requests. If the Services allow you to request, customise or personalise content, we collect and store the prompts, selections and other inputs you provide, together with the outputs generated from them. We use these to deliver the requested output, maintain your library, enforce our Terms of Use, detect misuse, and diagnose technical problems.
- Use of your inputs for model improvement. We do not use your prompts or submissions to train or fine-tune generative models.
- Third-party AI providers. Generating and moderating content may involve third-party AI and cloud providers, who process the relevant inputs on our instructions and under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. These providers are listed in Section 5.
- Automated moderation. We use automated systems, alongside human review, to screen content and user submissions for material that breaches our Terms of Use or applicable law. Where an automated decision materially affects you, such as removal of a submission or restriction of your account, you may request human review by contacting us.
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To provide the Services: create and maintain your account, authenticate you, stream and download content, remember your playback position across devices, and maintain your watchlist and library.
- To personalise your experience: recommend titles, rank rows and collections, select artwork, and tailor the content shown to your stated and inferred preferences and to your region and language.
- To process transactions: activate, renew, upgrade, downgrade or cancel subscriptions; issue receipts; and handle refunds, chargebacks and billing disputes.
- To improve and develop the Services: analyse performance, measure feature adoption, diagnose crashes and playback failures, run A/B tests, and plan new content and features. We use aggregated and de-identified statistics for this wherever possible.
- To keep the platform safe: detect, investigate and prevent fraud, payment abuse, account sharing beyond permitted limits, credential stuffing, scraping, piracy, circumvention of digital rights management, and other unauthorised, unlawful or harmful activity; and to enforce our Terms of Use.
- To communicate with you: send transactional and service messages such as one-time passwords, subscription and payment confirmations, renewal reminders, security alerts, content availability notices and policy updates. These are necessary to the Services and cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
- For marketing, where permitted: send promotional emails, in-app messages and push notifications about new releases, offers and features, and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. You may opt out at any time as described in Section 10.
- For advertising, where applicable: show you interest-based promotions for our own content and, on ad-supported tiers if offered, third-party advertising.
- To publish aggregate insights: report viewership figures, growth metrics, trends and case studies. These are always aggregated and never identify you individually.
- To comply with law: meet our obligations under applicable law, respond to lawful requests from courts, regulators and law enforcement, respond to and defend legal claims, maintain tax and accounting records, and protect our rights, property and the safety of our users, staff and the public.
- For any other purpose we tell you about and for which we obtain your consent at the time.
5. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as set out below.
5.1 Service providers
We engage third parties to perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting and content delivery, video encoding and streaming, generative AI and content moderation, authentication, payment processing, product and marketing analytics, attribution, crash reporting, push notifications, email and messaging, customer support ticketing, and advertising measurement. These providers may access your information only as needed to perform their functions and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
Our current providers are:
| Purpose | Provider | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Content delivery and video streaming | Akamai Technologies, Inc. | https://www.akamai.com/legal/privacy-statement |
| Product and usage analytics | Mixpanel, Inc. | https://mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy/ |
| Install attribution and marketing measurement | Singular Labs, Inc. | https://www.singular.net/privacy-policy/ |
| Advertising delivery, audiences and campaign measurement | Meta Platforms, Inc. | https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/ |
| Payment processing | PhonePe Private Limited | https://www.phonepe.com/privacy-policy |
| In-app purchases and subscription billing | Google LLC (Google Play Billing) | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Cloud hosting and storage | Amazon Web Services, Inc. | https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/ |
| Generative AI and content tooling | Higgsfield AI | https://higgsfield.ai/privacy-policy |
| Authentication, crash reporting and push notifications | Google LLC (Firebase) | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
In particular, we share your device advertising identifier, install and in-app event data and IP address with Singular and Meta Platforms so that we can measure which marketing campaigns lead to installs and subscriptions, and so that we can build and exclude audiences for our own advertising. You can limit this by resetting or disabling your advertising identifier in your device settings.
A third party may be able to infer your general geographic region and personalise the content or advertising you see accordingly.
5.2 Group companies
We may share information with our holding company, subsidiaries and affiliates for internal administration, support and product development, subject to this Policy.
5.3 Legal and safety disclosures
We may disclose your information to courts, law enforcement, regulators or other government authorities where we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, respond to a verified request relating to an investigation or suspected unlawful activity, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property or safety of us, our users or the public.
5.4 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets or insolvency, your information may be transferred to the counterparty or successor entity, including during due diligence, subject to the protections in this Policy.
6. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Your consent, given when you create an account, enable a feature or opt into marketing, and which you may withdraw at any time;
- Performance of a contract, to deliver the Services you have signed up for and to process your payments;
- Our legitimate interests, where these are not overridden by your rights, including securing our platform, preventing fraud and piracy, improving the Services, and communicating with you about them;
- Compliance with a legal obligation, including tax, accounting, content regulation and law enforcement requirements; and
- Protection of vital interests, in rare cases involving the safety of an individual.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
7. Payments and billing
We do not store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, bank account credentials or net-banking passwords. Payments are processed by PhonePe Private Limited and, where you purchase inside the App through an app store, by Google Play Billing. We receive only the transaction details needed to activate and support your subscription.
Auto-renewal is managed by the payment method and app store you choose and is not within our control. To cancel or change auto-renewal, use your app store subscription settings or your payment provider's mandate management.
We and our payment partners use commercially reasonable measures, and our partners apply the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) where applicable, when handling payment card data.
For billing, refund and subscription rules, see:
- Google Play: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/10281818
- PhonePe: https://www.phonepe.com/privacy-policy
8. Security
Data in transit between your device and our systems is encrypted using TLS. Data at rest is stored in access-controlled environments with encryption, least-privilege access, logging and periodic review. We restrict internal access to personal information to personnel who need it.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you provide information to us at your own risk. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authority where required by applicable law and within the timelines it prescribes.
9. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and thereafter only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and prevent fraud and abuse. Indicative periods:
| Category | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account and profile data | For the life of the account, then deleted within 30 days of a deletion request, except registration records, which we retain for 180 days where the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it require it |
| Viewing and interaction history | 24 months, after which it is aggregated or de-identified |
| Payment and transaction records | As required by applicable tax and accounting law, typically 8 years |
| Support correspondence | 24 months from closure of the ticket |
| Security and access logs | 12 months |
| Content reports and enforcement records | 36 months |
Where we no longer have a legitimate need for your information, we delete it or irreversibly de-identify it.
10. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law and successful verification of your identity, you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and a summary of how it is processed;
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information, directly in the App or by contacting us;
- Delete your account and associated information, as described in Section 11;
- Withdraw consent to processing that relies on consent;
- Port your information to another provider in a structured, machine-readable format, where the law provides this right;
- Opt out of marketing by using the unsubscribe link in any promotional email, turning off promotional notifications in your device or App settings, or writing to stream@eight.network;
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity, where applicable law provides for this; and
- Complain to us using the grievance channel in Section 15, or to the relevant supervisory or data protection authority.
We will acknowledge requests within 7 working days and respond substantively within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. We may ask for information to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may decline requests where the law permits, for example where retention is legally mandated.
11. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings in the App, or by submitting a request at https://sevn.eight.network/delete-account or emailing stream@eight.network.
Deleting your account closes your access to the Services and removes your profile, watchlist, viewing history and submissions, subject to the retention periods in Section 9. You will lose access to any active subscription, downloads and previous purchases, and these are generally non-refundable except as stated in our Terms of Use or as required by law. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account, and deleting your account may not automatically cancel a subscription billed through an app store, so please cancel it separately.
12. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not engage in behavioural advertising or tracking directed at children.
If we learn that a child has provided us with personal information without the required consent, we will delete it promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, contact us at stream@eight.network and we will remove it.
Some titles on the Services carry mature themes. Where parental controls or maturity ratings are offered, we process the associated settings as part of your account profile.
13. Links to other sites and services
The Services may link to third-party websites, stores and applications that we do not operate or control. This Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third party before providing it with your information, and we accept no responsibility for their content or practices.
14. International transfers
Your information may be stored and processed in India and in any other country where we, our affiliates or our service providers maintain facilities. Some of these countries may have data protection laws that differ from those of your country. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we implement appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections with the recipient, so that it continues to be protected in line with this Policy and applicable law.

Where the changes are material, we will give you prominent notice in the App or by email before they take effect.
